In this chapter, the narrator tells us that he is the guardian of the heavenly spirit, and that he has already had many people's fate tied to him. He says that now he is no longer a poor boy from a small town, but an ordinary person who has chosen to live in a big city. The narrator says that he can't go back to his old life, since he has chosen a path that is inaccessible to ordinary people. He sees a weird scene on the street of a big sect town. Everyone is standing in the street, staring at the back of a tiger. Everyone wants to see the man on the back, but he looks nothing like a young man. Mr. Liu tells the man that he's tired after a long trip, and invites him to come inside and rest. He also tells him that the people of the big sects are waiting for him, too, and they're trying to make him suffer a defeat through the use of the tiger. The man says that if he were in the position of power, he'd take the opportunity to plunder all the good stuff from the taotian sect. He asks why the men are waiting, and the man answers that they don't know where the man is now.
