The scene switches to Lu and Hongxiu's conversation, which is interrupted by a spurt of coughing. Lu tells his friend that he will stand by him no matter what, even if they die together. He says that they were not born the same day, but they can both die on that day. Lu says that he is sorry, but he will not hurt the two girls. He swears that he won't do anything to harm them. He feels as though he has been talking for thousands of years. When they finally bump into each other, time seems to stop. Lu asks why they are so stupid, and she replies that they are just like all the other girls in the world. Lu admits that he has bumped his head this morning, and he worries that something might happen to him. He asks if they can give him a kiss, and they both admit that they would be willing to give it up for him.
