In this chapter, Zongxiaofan tells his father that he wants to join the holy sect. He tells him that he is a member of the righteous, and that he would rather die than be a part of the evil cult of the sages. The sages and the grandmasters of the clan just massacred anyone they saw as an enemy, even old people, women, and children. The father says that he swears on his life that he will never join the righteous. After sleeping in the wild for the night, he finally reaches the main road. On the way, he passes a small kiosk where a handful of customers are sitting inside. After a long walk, he finds a small shade and decides to rest.
