Chapter 42 opens with a soliloquy by Master of the Demon, who tells us that he'd like to get away from his chest. He says that everyone knows that he is the beloved daughter of the demon god master, and that everyone respects her. When the master summoned the group to search for Kui-bull, they all answered his summons, but they didn't find him. Now, more and more people are gathering, and the master still hasn't given any explanation as to why he's asking them to search so pointlessly. The master says that he doesn't want to harm the group, because they're all disciples of holy cult, and he won't do anything that would betray their doctrine. He tells the group that they shouldn't worry, because he'll still give them an explanation if they need it. The group says that they'll be killed if they don't give him an explanation, but the master will still give it anyway. They're not just pawns, the master says. He's a disciple of blood hall, which is the most powerful holy cult in the world. Blood hall was at its peak of power eight hundred years ago, but it's been declining ever since.
