About This Chapter
Chapter 19 opens with a description of a long tunnel. It's also described as a "heart of the mountain" . Bi-Yao, the disciple of the 43rd generation of the Heavenly King, has come to greet the holy man. The Heavenly King is the goddess of the Netherworld and the King of Heaven. He's a member of the holy sect, which has suffered a lot over the years. Countless members have sacrificed their lives in order to return the sect to glory. He tells Bi-Yose that they're both destined to become enemies with each other. The tablet at the foot of the tunnel has a quote from the Book of tao te-ching, which basically says that heaven and earth view all beings as "straw dogs offered" to god. The light from the tablet is so soft that it feels like it's been hanging out with someone it knows for a long, long time. It seems like the light is from a long time ago, like someone who used to be a friend of the person it knows. The only problem with this is that the guy doesn't want to go with them. He wants to go alone. The cave is dark, and he can't figure out why the guy is being so ungrateful. There is a chamber in the cave with a bunch of magical weapons.
