The chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which we learn that Juwon is now twenty-two years old and living with his parents. Juwon tells us that he has been racking up the expenses of the household, and that his allowance is going to have to be raised in order to keep up with the rising cost of living. He tells Juwon that he's surprised that he hasn't told him more about his feelings for the vampire, and Juwon says that he likes the way he looks at vampires, even though they're not like humans. He says that if he were a vampire, he'd ask anyone on the street if they feel the same way about him.
