The narrator begins this chapter by saying that he has "imperfectly as expected" . He then goes on to say that the first thing that happened in the morning was that the eldest son was the "king of self- flattery" , followed by the second eldest son and the third eldest son. The eldest son is a compulsive liar, the second is the king of flattery, the third is an ex-lover, and the fourth is a vampire. He says that Dongha, the vampire, is offering his room in exchange for Dongha's blood. The narrator says that he cannot believe why they have to live in such a squalid house, but he wonders what would become of them if they were vampires. Dongha says that if he were a vampire, he would pay him as much as he wanted. He asks the narrator why he is walking around naked, and she says that it is refreshing to be seen by "pure eyes." She says that she has been living alone for a long time, and that she is not very good at understanding people. She wonders why Dongha is walking naked. He replies that he can only drip drip drip, and can only drop drip drip. He tells her that he is eating with her, and asks her if she is being impolite. She says yes, she is, and he tells her to "just enjoy your meal." She asks him if
