In this short scene, Jim delivers a speech about his birthday. He tells the audience that he wishes he could break off his relationship with Don Ganymede, but that he cannot because he is a vampire and therefore cannot be broken up with. He then goes on to say that he is happy that he has been given the gift of being able to see the world through the eyes of a vampire.
