About This Chapter
Yonhap News Agency reports that the king has ordered a special investigation into the murder of Sik-Bin. Yonhap learns that the man accused of the crime, the chief of military affairs, bribed the chief to frame Yonhap. The king says that he has received a report that the chief bribed him, and that he was under pressure to make false accusations against Yonhap in order to gain favor with the king. He asks Yonhap why he wants to investigate the murder, and Yonhap says that it is a waste of time, money, and effort to do so. He also says that suspicions about the murder remain in his heart, and he is devastated by Yonhap's kindness. He apologizes to Yonhap, but Yonhap refuses to apologize, saying he has been pursuing the moral path for a hundred years. He tells Yonhap that he will trust Yonhap to do what he wants. He says that now is a "matter of pride," and he will entrust Yonhap with his plans if he says so.
