About This Chapter
The messenger arrives with the news that censor Lee has been found dead outside the palace. It turns out that Lee's body was found in his wife's room the previous night. It's clear that he's the murderer, and that the censor trusted him. The messenger tells the story of how he found the journal of the murderer. He says that he knew that his wife was struggling, but he didn't realize that it was evidence of her infidelity until he read the journal. He's been eliminating her men one by one until he finds out their identities, so no one notices the ties among them. He thinks that the murderer is the chief censor, but that he doesn't want to tell the censor about it because he knows that they're trying to kill him. He tells the messenger that an officer has recently been disturbing matters, and he says that the officer seems to have a "prime ritual officer" as his support, but seems to be "very persistent and smart." The messenger says that this officer has found the evidence regarding his wife, and the messenger plans to send shadow to get it. He also says that, two hours ago, he was attacked
