The scene opens with the sound of someone's pounding on the door of the Hostess's apartment. It's the masseur, and the Hostess is freaking out. The masseur is making her come down the stairs with him, and she's freaking out because he's whipping her around with his fingers. She's so freaked out that she can't even get out of her hiding place. The Hostess tells us that she has to go to the beauty parlor to pick up some makeup, and that she'll be back in no time at all.
