About This Chapter
The narrator laments that he's been "wasted and wet" at work. He wants to go to the company camp, where he can "swallow and wet." He's afraid that the hot springs and the hotter things inside will make him "spent and wet," and he wants to make sure that his boss is okay. He tries to get him to move, but the boss won't let him. The narrator tells him to "swoop swa swarp" , which means "swallow" . He tells the boss that if he moves too much, he'll lose his mind. The two of them try to get to know each other better, and the narrator says that he only recently saw the boss for his body , but that he has noticed all of his "strong points" lately. He asks the boss if he'd like to know when his birthday is . The boss says that's not his fault, and that he just wants to know what's going on with the company. He says that even a good meal isn't enough, because "even just a great meal is fine." The narrator asks if the boss is a romantic, and he says that the boss "actually a romantic" at heart.
