The next morning, the hot springs and steamy rooms of the company camp give way to the smell of sweat and mud. The smell of mud and sweat is so strong that it makes the boss shake his head. He tries to get the smell out of the room, but it's too strong for him. He's afraid that the smell will make him sneeze, so he's trying to get it out of his system. The boss tries to calm him down, but the smell is too strong, and he can't get it to go away. He calls for a cab, and the boss tells him to go home. He tells him that the woman is still helping with the others, and that he'll be back soon. He says that he couldn't sleep last night because of the smell, so the smell woke him up again. He asks if the elevator is failing, and when he says no, the boss asks if there's anything he can do about it. He wonders if it will move again soon, and then he asks if he can squeeze the elevator to make it move. The elevator moves, but no one is able to see it, so they have to shake it to make the elevator move.
