In the morning, Siddharth wakes up to find that his birthday present has arrived: chocolate. He is so touched by it that he almost cries. He tells his mother that he snuck the chocolate into his desk because he is so devoted to his studies that he is almost crying. He says that he has told his mother not to do such a thing, but that he thinks that she just bought the chocolate as a gift. He asks his mother if she has ever seen her son treating himself so badly, and she says that she has. She tells him that tomorrow he and Siddharth will go to the studio for a month to train for the exam. Siddharth asks if he can see his mother tomorrow, and her reply is that he does not need to see her.
