In this chapter, the narrator explains that he is a grown man, and that he does not want to look at Shaanxi's dormitory. He wonders why he is dragging his things, and wonders if he has scratched his skin when he fell. He feels good about himself, and he wonders if shaanxi feels the same way. He does not think about it, and says that he hopes to wake up the next morning and be speechless. He says that if he opens his eyes tomorrow, he will be speechless again. The narrator says that, after some sleep, he may be able to open his eyes and see the face again. He then asks if the boy has done his homework, and the boy says yes, and asks if he can reference it later in the corridor.
