Ren tells her that she's been doing well at school lately, and that the teacher has said that she has potential. Ren asks if she can say more words during the meal, and her mom says that she can, but that they shouldn't talk too much. Ren says that her mom has been at home a lot lately, because she has to work during the week, and sometimes she doesn't have time to cook for Ren.
