In this chapter, we learn that Chen Xuyan's brother, Fang, has been hiding in plain sight, and that he is the one who has set his brother up. Fang tells the young lord that his brother was supposed to fight in the battle, but didn't show up. Instead, he committed "mass slaughter" to silence those who opposed him. The young lord tells Fang that he had promised him that he would hand him over to his brother and revoke his wanted status if he would silence the people who opposed his brother.
