The fox is still inside of the barrier, but he's not sure if he'll be able to seal it off long enough to get out. He's holding an old doll that was made by his wife for his adopted daughter, who's getting along well with her new husband. The doll reminds him of his wife's love for her daughter, and he wants to use it to protect her from the evil spirit of Gyokumen. The fox says that this is a "serious test of endurance" , and they'll have to show the fox all of his "honour" .
