In this chapter, we learn that the animals are on a "roaring rampage" because of the "miasma" . Funazuki and the other wolves are headed for the "stone of destruction" , while shizukaze is in a "pinch" because he's been betrayed by the "first person" he ever trusted, the senzou. The senzou is the one who killed him, and he should get rid of the wolf pup now so he doesn't get caught in the same trap again. The wolf pup is the "over seer" of the fox, and the oguchi-makami is his master. He tells the wolf pups voice to get through to senzou so he can help him. He also tells him to join him and he'll help him feel better. The oguchi man says that he has an idea, and it's not searching for the place, but rather pointing anger, hatred, and grief at the place where he was betrayed. It's like he was "drawn in" to the place that he was supposed to be, and that's why he wants to help. He's going to help him, but he won't let him have his way any longer.
