The third prince enters and asks why Shaoli is so nervous. He's just heard that the emperor has married Shaoli's sister. Shaoli tells him that she just received an invitation to a banquet for the Dragon Boat Festival at the palace. The prince asks Shaoli if she'd like to go with him to the banquet, but Shaoli says she'll have to go alone. She tells the prince that she's worried about her relationship with her mother, but that she doesn't want to be a burden to her sister. He tells her that he wants her to invite him to dinner for the festival.
