This chapter opens with a conversation between Bulgar and his wife. Bulgar tells his wife that he has found a secret compartment in which he can hide. He tells her not to worry, because there is nothing in the compartment that can kill her husband. He also tells her to take care of herself, because he hopes the flight control system will be back in working order. He says that he remembers a lake nearby when he was working on his mission in Africa, and he wonders if this is the day he will die. He jumps out of the lake and says that there is no way he will survive if the plane does not descend further. He then says that a goddess has fallen out of a sky, and that she is not a goddess, but a businesswoman from the East. He sends her to the mercenary division of the army, and she tells him to bring her there.
