The young man is impressed by the royal residence, and he is eager to try the royal dishes at the restaurant. The monk apologizes for not welcoming the two guests earlier. He says that they are "absolutely outstanding" and that they have made "significant contributions to society" as well. He then tells the story of how he came across a friend of his who saved his life once when he was a kid. He handed him a statue of a buddha because he could tell that the man was about to participate in a bloody incident. He asks the monk if he knows a man named "chen haiyang," but the monk says that he is not sure who he is talking about. When the monk asks him to give him a taste of his own curse, the young monk shivers and says that his curse has "bounced back." The monk asks what the monk's intention is in coming to Jincheng.
