The flute player tells the serpent not to waste his time. He'll give him five minutes to finish the fight. Senior Brother says that they must first defeat the snake. He leaves the flute player to break his spell. He says that his inner force is strong enough to crush the mountain, but the serpent took his strike as if nothing. He tells Senior Brother that he's already in over his head. The ghost sword hasn't yet joined the battle. He grabs the quill dagger and says that he purposefully exposed his weaknesses to get close to the serpent. He explains that he can only wield it at full power at a distance because he can't reach the serpent at full range. He asks Senior Brother to show him his ghost sword in exchange.
