The next morning, Volger wakes up to find a scratch on his head. He's not sure what it is, but he's sure that it's some kind of death. He wonders why Volger's boss gave him this protective gear, and he wonders why the weather's getting colder. He also wonders if the ice and water are moving toward him, and wonders if Volger is trying to provoke him. He doesn't want to go down in the cold, so he tells Volger to tell him the next time they see each other.
