This chapter opens with a conversation between Wood and yifei. Wood says that he's copied all of the information that he has. He's worried that cortilia doesn't trust him, because she thinks they're going to create something awful. Wood is worried about urito's safety, but he still wants to be free. He says that iyifei hasn't told him anything about the fight with the creatures from the other world. Wood asks if uriso has told him about the incident, and he says he has heard about it. Wood then asks if the creatures are still fighting against them from another world, and Wood says they haven't. He asks why they didn't send him there to save them, and the urissians say that it was they who started the fight against the creatures in the first place, and that they were allowed to do so by their lord, Forseti. Wood tells iyifoi that they'll all be saved when the gardeners come, and they won't have to fight the creatures anymore.
