In the year 328, the birth rate in the town of kaya is worsening. To increase productivity, immigrants from dying worlds are brought to the town. These people are "adopted" by "empty nesters" or "childless families" in order to make them more productive. They are called "creatures from other worlds" because they are not native to their homelands. The children of these immigrants are called brats because they do not conform to the social customs of their new home. They complain that they have been waiting for them and that they will be late for school. They also complain that the old witch has come to visit them. The old witch calls them brats and tells them to be careful on their way to school. The brats start to complain about the wait and the fact that they are late. They start to play with each other and when they finally arrive at school, they are very angry. They do not want to go to school because they think the police will come and arrest them for making noise in the front of their house. They call the witch an old witch and call her grandma. When she leaves, the brats call her "old witch." They also call her a "brat" because she is wearing a mask. They argue about whether or not they should go to the Halloween party next week. They decide not to go because their mother did not want them to buy her a costume. They talk about how they are going to die if one of the aliens dies.
