In this chapter, we're introduced to a new character, who's a bit of a mystery to us. He's called "Wood" , and he's kind of an odd-looking guy. He doesn't seem to know much about the world, but he does know a thing or two about the Underground Man. Wood is a little freaked out by the fact that no one else seems to know anything about him. He wants to know what's going on. He also wants to find out if anyone's been searching for him in the Underground. Wood asks if anyone else has been looking for him, and if they've gone out yet. Apparently, no one has been. Wood's not sure what to make of this, either. He wonders if there's anyone out there that's trying to find him, or if he just hasn't found them yet. Wood says that he'll find out soon enough, but first, he wants to make sure that everyone in Eden knows about his backup bodies.
