The song opens with a soliloquy by a young woman named cynnie. She tells the audience that she is not the woman they want her to become. She asks the audience to put down the potion that they have prepared for her and not to look at her. She says that she will help the young master dissolve the potion. . The young master says that the potion will not cause any harm, but . the hair grows longer and it extracts a lot of the master's energy, so he will not be able to do much of anything. She reminds him that he can think of her as lin too. She also asks him why he did not hesitate when she asked him to do so. She then asks him if he would like to fight the curse together. He says that he is afraid that he will no longer be xi. He tells her that he knows how she feels and that he does not want to lose himself. He also says that if he wavers first, then he will be in a disadvantageous position in the game. He asks her if she is running away. She replies that if she changes the way she deals with the curse there might be hope, but that she would rather follow the old method and continue being led by the curse. She will not take the risk, she says, because she cannot let him disappear anymore. She wants to take him back to her room to rest
