In this chapter, liu-jin defends himself against fang-jin's attack. He says that he's been working hard for 17 years to become the best player in the world, but that he hasn't been able to do so. He tells jin that he despises him, and that he won't interfere with his business. He goes to xin-xin's billiard room and finds that the guy who's following them is meeting with li-xin in private. The door is unlocked, and li-jin says that lixin isn't using him, but is instead using him to protect her. He asks jin to stay out of his business, but jin refuses, saying that he already knew that. He then asks zhong-jin to find out about a man who just got out of prison six months earlier, and to hire a lawyer.
