In this chapter, we're introduced to Qiu Ming, a young man who's just started playing billiards. We learn that he's not a very good player, and that he doesn't really know how to play the game. Qiu Ming is trying to confuse the other players, so that they can't defend themselves against him. He's also trying to make it harder for the other guys to play billiards, so they can only play one game at a time. The other guys will have to defend themselves, too, because they're not good enough to defend against Qiu Ming's attacks. This is the first time we've seen this young man play, and he has no idea what to do with himself. We're also introduced to his new trick, which is basically a banana shot. The shot is kind of like a masse shot, but it's small and erratic, like the cue ball has drifted away from the spot where it was supposed to go. This isn't a good sign, but we'll have to wait and see.
