About This Chapter
The next morning, the doctor goes to the hospital to check on the patient. He's excited to see how well he's doing. He wants to know if there's anything he can do to save the boy. The doctor tells him that they're going to draw a lot of blood, but that's not going to cure him. He also tells the doctor that the boy's hematopoietic system seems to be causing anemia, organ failure, and other diseases. He doesn't know what else to do, but a blood transfusion seems like the safest thing to do. He asks the doctor if he can hide the boy in the laboratory so that he won't have to worry about him later. He says he'll go home and ask for leave at school so he can come back and check on him.
