The next day, the two young men go to visit their grandmother, who has recently died. They find that her body has not been found, and that she has given them instructions to burn all of her belongings if their granddaughter does not visit her for three months. When they return to the house, they find that the box grandma left them contains a book that she used to teach them the language of the village. The book explains the meaning of the word "man" in the spell, which means "ultimate human" or "warrior." The young men decide to leave the village chief some money and build roads in the mountains.
