In chapter six, the narrator chooses the best quality of meat, herbs, and other ingredients, and waits for the spell to complete. The narrator is extremely grateful to his brother for his hard work, and the meat contains a great deal of pearl. The meat smells strange, but the narrator doesn't know what to do with it. He needs to switch out herbs and incense seven days before the spell is complete, and on the morning of the fifty-ninth day, the meat will be ready for the next phase of the spell.
