In this short scene, Desdemona tries to protect the Lord of the Rings from the approaching army, but he is wounded in battle and cannot fight. He tells the soldier that he must let the enemy soldiers go first before he can give them the book he is looking for, the bronze edition of the Book of the God and the demon. The soldier says that he does not want to see anyone die for him, so he just takes the book and hopes that the soldier will keep his word.
