The scene opens in the shop of the Ming family, where Lin tian is trying to get permission from the Ming master to go to the shop to deal with some business problems. Lin tells the master that he has found out that Luo Jin's gang is involved in some shady business dealings with the local noblemen. The Ming master agrees to go investigate the matter himself, but warns the master not to mention the matter to anyone. Lin then asks the master if he can bring the Ming clan to the scene to investigate the business dealings at the yinyun mansion.
