About This Chapter
In this chapter, the narrator explains that the differences between the two siblings are related to the size of their bodies. Little Nine was born weak, and it took her 300 years to grow up to be an adult. When she was born, the trees of life were nearing the end of their useful life span, so there was no soul power left for nurturing her. The first fruit that was born after the trees were destroyed was the first to be reborn, and the difference is very large. So one of the siblings has the highest level of skill, while the other one has the lowest. The narrator then explains that little Nine waited for her to grow bigger, so that she would be able to eat more, and grow up more quickly. He then cuts off the tail of the little fox, which is now transformed into a human.
