The teacher tells Little Em'ly that she's learned a lot in her first year at school. She's happy to see that she has a good grasp on everything, but she still has a lot of work to do. One of her biggest problems is figuring out how to add up the numbers on the sides of the circle so that they all add up to 19. The teacher asks her if anyone else can solve the problem, and she says that she doesn't know anyone who can, but that she can figure out a way to make the numbers add up. The teacher gives her a little gift, which she gives back to the other student who gave her the gift.
