In this chapter, we find out more about the events of the previous chapter. First, we learn that King Lear has sent a messenger to Regan asking her to come to his house for tea. Regan is invited, but she refuses, saying that she has been drinking too much. The messenger tells her that her father has sent someone to kill her. Regan tells the messenger that she will be there later, and the messenger arrives with a message for her. The message is that her mother is a witch, and that she should be put to death. Regan asks the messenger to tell her father that she bullied her mother, but the messenger says that he will do the same for her
