The scene opens with a young man, who has just arrived at the theater. He asks the young man what he is doing there. The young man tells him that he has come to see the director for an audition for a small part in a new film. He tells the man that he is the best actor in the room and that he wants to stand next to the man who won the big part in the previous film. The man says that he likes the script very much and that the project is not about scale, but quality. He then goes on to say that the director is an idol of the young generation, and that it is too late for him to beat the man. He wants to conquer the man and become the man's only love.
