In this short scene, Shmoop explains to his mother that he has come to her house because he wants to see his mother's reaction to Shaoyan's performance in the school play. He tells her that his mother has been eavesdropping on his conversation with his sisters and that she should not send strange things out of the house. He also says that he will not allow his mother to bully him because he is a "gc boy" .
