The next morning, the Governess is waiting for her. She wants to know why she didn't sleep the night before. She asks if she had a good night's sleep. The Governess tells her that she went out with her boyfriend, and he got angry with her. He came home late, she says, because he was going to buy some "slam crap" . She tells him that she's made it all the way to the top of the heap, and that she won't be angry with him this time. She orders her "ginger soup" and tells her to drink it after she drys her hair.
