"Big slacker baby" , as he's called by the girls, remembers the last thing he remembers: the ball flying toward him. He wakes up to find Cymbeline and alvan waiting for him in the yard. He's feeling better, though, and he wants to go ahead and get his bag back in class so he can return the key to the room where he'll be staying. He wants to wait in the shade so he won't get caught up in the excitement of the game, which is about to begin. He tells the girls that they're going to win the game because of a girl named kiki, who joined the team. He also tells them that if they don't cancel the bet with the girl named arin, they'll lose the game. The girls are all, "Gee, we've already decided to steal arin away from senior alvan" . They're not sure why, but they've got it figured out.
