About This Chapter
The kami tells Takemika that he is the one who created the land of Japan. He tells Hirokazu that he wanted to know the truth before he saw her. He says that he had a hunch that she was the izanami, but that he didn't want to interfere because she was in pain. The air of death on the ground is bad for his body, he says, and the air of the sky is full of ghosts. He is sorry that he left them all by himself since they went to the no kuni, and he says that the ghosts will devour the souls of the dead before they can die. He adds that he will be able to fulfill death by the sun. He asks if he is saying that if he said he would kill 1,000 people, he would be saying that he would not kill anyone. He reminds everyone not to forget what is important to them, but to remember what is protecting them.
