Three days have passed since Hayate's curse on Hayate was lifted, and Hayate is back at school. He's not feeling well, so he's going to be late for class. The other students are glad Hayate looks him up, and they tease him about not coming to class for four days. Hayate tells them that they're wasting their time with each other, since they don't have any friends. He also tells them not to make fun of Midori's family, since she's mysterious and mysterious families are unusual. He tells Hayate that he wants to take him to a place where he can pick him up and put on his new clothes. He asks Hayate if he has time after this, and he tells him that he has a place he'd like to take. He says that he came to pick Hayate up because he wanted to put on the new clothes he was wearing, but Hayate told him not to worry about it. He then tells him about a time when he tried to extinguish a terrible fire, but he didn't know how to do it, because everyone hated him. He doesn't like the ritual, though, because it makes him look like a bad person.
