Act 12 opens with Hayate telling his friend, mashiro, to "give those mori to me" . Hayate says he'll take Hayate and his friend to meet with their parents, but he's not going to let Hayate steal the mori from him. He's going to give them to Hayate, who will then give them away to his friend. The two of them decide to ask Hayate's friend, asagi, for a clue as to where Hayate might be. Asagi is supposed to be at school, but Hayate doesn't want to ask him. They decide to go find Asagi, but they can't find Hayate. They'll both die if they don't give Hayate the kami, so they're going to have to kill each other. They figure out that Hayate is in love with Asagi's mother, and they should ask her name. But Hayate won't tell them. He says he has to serve Hayate from now on. He tells Hayate that even though he promised to take him to his mother's house, Hayate hasn't been able to do so. He asks Hayate what's happened to his body, and Hayate tells him to "rage grab come" , which is a play on words for rage.
