About This Chapter
The kami of Sakura and his wife, the goddess fuji, are in the middle of a conversation. The sakura tells his wife that he will punish her if she does not stop acting like a goddess. He also tells her that she will be punished if she continues to act like a kami. He then tells her to dance with him, and she agrees to do so. She then asks him if he expects to fight, and he says that he does not expect to fight. She tells him that she is afraid of fuji because of her powerful spiritual powers. He tells her not to worry, because he will help her a little. She asks him to pretend to be a maiden, and then he asks her if he can dance with her. She replies that he can, but he should not pretend to do anything. She says that a famous folk tale says that if a crow grows too tall, it must be painful for it to be turned into a rii, or a torii that torments humans. He says that fuji will punish him later, and that he is glad that he managed to keep the tree in bloom. He adds that he wishes that he could make wishes for himself, but that he doesn't have such a desire. He wants to help kamisama, but wishes are not made with his powers alone. He wishes to make people smile, and wishes are made with the powers of others. He asks if this is his wish, and if it is his own wish, then he will perform the wishes with that wish.
