In this chapter, we learn that minami was born in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was raised by a man named dino, who taught him how to live on the streets. At the age of five, minami committed his first crime, killing an enemy of dino's. This was the beginning of his life as a violent criminal. When he was twelve, he beat his enemy to death in front of his mother, who died in the scuffle. At fourteen, he was arrested by a rival gang and moved to Japan to be with his grandparents. He tells us that some of the gang members who played a role in the recent uprising in Kanto are now in his gang. He says that he wants to be the leader of the new generation of gang members in Japan.
