The chapter opens with a flashback to Hiroshi's discovery of the twin engines in the abandoned Philpi pines. Hiroshi tells us that he and Kenchin have been working on the engine, which he calls the "babu" . It's named for the noise it makes, and it's the same engine as the one that Hiroshi found in the pines. The two men have been building the engine together, and they've finally finished it. The chapter ends with Hiroshi saying that he's going back to the future.
