Chapter 45 opens with a flashback to a scene from the previous chapter. It's the night before the fight between Tora and Yonhap, and Tora is about to kill Yonhap when he realizes that he's about to be killed by his old pal, the broth. Yonhap and the broth are about to fight, but Yonhap stops them, saying that he doesn't want to kill anyone. Yonsay says that he didn't mean to kill Tora, and that he was just trying to get rid of the broth, which is why he killed Yonhap. The broth, however, is none other than Yonhap's friend, the first-division vice-captain, and the guy who beat Yonhap to a pulp at the end of the previous fight. The two men argue about whether or not Yonhap should be grateful to Yonhap for saving his life, and how Yonhap could have killed Tora if he hadn't done so.
