Back at the cottage, Rosa is still bleeding from the wound on her left side. She's not sure where she's been or what's going on. She asks if she can talk to the captain of the survey corps, who's on a tour of the various academies. Rosa says she can't talk to him because he knows about her mother's involvement in the mutinies. She also says that she doesn't want anyone to die because she wants to avenge her father. Rosa tells her that the blade she got from her girl friend is a protection charm, which means she'll be safe if she ever forgets it. Rosa wonders why they've had such a hard time finding her. She wonders if it's because they're so far away from town that no one would be able to find them.
